Isles of Scilly Seabird Group
The group is involved in seabird ringing throughout the Isles of Scilly, aimed at providing additional information on the size, distribution and seasonal movements of local seabird populations in support of other conservation monitoring activities, though the group also engages in more routine monitoring work. The Group also successfully cleared one of the larger, main seabird breeding islands, Samson, of Brown Rats, Rattus norvegicus, work which the Isles of Scilly Environmental Trust has since extended to additional key seabird islands. The group operates with the agreement and at the discretion of the Isles of Scilly Wildlife Trust.
For further information on the Group’s activities contact the secretary. |
